Pencils down Now here we go what we want to do is give you the opportunity to Get the answers to your exam The reason we did this is number one because we want you to get your arms around prophecy We want you to be able to ask yourself what you know about prophecy and then be able to expand on some of these questions Because over the next several months we will cover all of these in greater detail So we start at a very basic level and ask some questions about what you know And so question number one simply was what are the three major books of the Bible that address future events? answer B Right, it's B Daniel Ezekiel Revelation
Okay We know that Isaiah and Revelation in number a that speaks or letter a that speaks a lot but Exodus does not Lamentations really doesn't John a very little bit and yes revelation for C But D Matthew in the Olivet discourse Yes a little bit in 1st Corinthians 15 Okay, but really basically revelation So the answer is B Daniel Ezekiel and Revelation Okay, if you've got that right, you're on the good road if you got that one wrong You're on the troubled road But don't worry about it, it's okay Number two
What future event does the term Rapture refer to? answer B that's good B Got the high school students with us tonight
They're all excited because they they don't do this good at school Okay the church Both living and dead being caught up together to meet the Christ in the air Now question is where is that found answer? first Thessalonians chapter 4 if you want to study about the translation of the church or the catching away of the church It's rebel first Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 13 to 17 Now that section is so vital that Paul concludes it by saying you need to comfort one another with these words Because it's the event of the rapture of the church that brings great comfort to the believer Now what we're going to do if time permits is give you another chart after our time together this evening that explains the difference between the rapture of the church and the revelation of the Christ So you're able to understand them both because we told you that the second coming of Christ the return of the King Is really in two phases it's about the rapture of the church where we are caught up together in the air with our loved ones who have died and We meet them in the air with the Lord and we will ever be with him And then we are a home with him
We receive our rewards we In are involved in the marriage supper of the Lamb and for that seven-year period we are in heaven We come back with him in Revelation 19 and that is the return of the Christ to the earth And therefore he sets up his kingdom But we'll give you a chart that will help you understand the difference between the two and why we believe there's a rapture of the church Before the return of the King seven years later All right
Number three the beam of seed of Christ is when Jesus Christ will judge who a All believers to determine what rewards will be received or lost based on their life on earth Now this is very important because people misunderstand the judgments of Christ And just for a brief moment Let me help you understand those judgments Because you realize that in second Corinthians 5 verse number 10 It says for we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ Okay
Now Paul is speaking to believers and The word for judgment is is Bhima and that Bhima seat is a platform all it is is a a raised platform such as similar to this and Those in Corinth would understand that raised platform because in the Olympic Games Those who were the winners would stand on that raised Platform and receive their crowns a lot like our Olympic Games today We have platforms which those who receive gold silver bronze stand on and receive those rewards well, the Bhima seat speaks specifically of Victory it speaks specifically of dignity So therefore the believer will receive rewards Paul says second Corinthians 5 verse number 10 for you must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ That we may receive that which is done on our body whether it be good or whether it be bad So the question comes what is judged? for the believer when Christ returns and Is there going to be a one of those things? Well, hey, you know you did bad so you're not gonna get a reward Well, the bottom line is is that there is no shame in heaven no shame and Our rewards are based on what we do
That's of eternal value that which is good is Eternal value that which is bad is only earthly value so that which is earthly is burned up and that which is eternal lasts forever and Therefore that which you do on this earth That leads to eternal value That's why we are to build up treasures on in heaven rather than on earth because those have eternal value Therefore you receive a crown Because of what you have done and the Bible lists five crowns Five crowns there's the crown of life Where is that found you may know? James chapter 1 verse number 12 The crown of life or literally the crown which is life it's given to all those who endure persecution and triumphs There's also the crown of righteousness That's a second Timothy 4 verse number 8 That crown is given to all those who love and long his appearing It's really the crown which is righteousness and the crown Which is life There's also the imperishable crown
That's first Corinthians 9 verses 25 to 27 That's given to those who live a life
That's that's righteous and doesn't succumb to corruption That's why Paul would say that he would beat his body into subjection lest he be disqualified from the ministry Because he was looking to receive the imperishable crown the crown that lasts forever There's also the crown of glory first Peter 5 verse number 4 that crown is given to those shepherds who Shepherd God's flock for his glory and for his honor And there's also and this is really crucial Especially in light of this Sunday sermon the crown of rejoicing the crown of rejoicing and That's in 1st Thessalonians chapter 2 verse number 19 it states these words For who is our hope or joy or crown of exaltation? Isn't not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus that is coming for you are our glory you are our joy There's a crown of exaltation the crown of rejoicing That's given to those listen carefully who are involved in winning others to Christ Leading people to maturity in Christ Helping people to understand who Christ is When you understand that you begin to put two and two together and you realize that in Hebrews 12 verse number 2 It says we are to fix our eyes on the author and finisher of our faith Who for the joy that was set before him endured this cross despising the shame What was the joy? that Jesus Looked to it was the joy of exaltation It was the joy of all those who would give their life to Christ because of his death on the cross So when you come to Luke chapter 10, which we're going to do on Sunday verse number 21, it says and at that time Jesus greatly rejoiced Why because he understood the plan of God was? such What was in effect to the group to the degree that those people who had been determined to believe? We're believing and following Christ and that's what gave him joy the crown of exaltation Given to those who lead others to Christ Very important to understand now
Is that all the crowns you receive in heaven? We don't know that we know that's the Bible explicitly talks about those crowns based on Eternal value the things you do on this earth So in the Bible says we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ You're not gonna be judged because of your sin Why? Because that was already judged at Calvary So let me give you seven judgments to help you understand the judgments of Christ It's very important for you to understand this judgment
Number one is the judgment of sin That took place at Calvary When he who knew no sins that goodness 521 Became sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in him So the first judgment the Bible speaks of is the judgment of sin It took place should be at Calvary when Christ died for our sins God judged fully and God judged finally All your sins in the death of Christ, that's why when you get to heaven, there'll be no judgment on your sin It's already been taken care of at Calvary
Okay The second judgment in Scripture is the judgment of self Each man judged himself The Bible says in first Corinthians 1131 for if we would judge ourselves We should not be judged In other words, we look at our lives We examine our lives so that we don't experience the chastening of God That's the second judgment
The Bible speaks of Number three is the judgment of believers works That's second Corinthians 5 or some pretend what we just talked about The being was did of Christ the place of dignity the place of royalty the place of honor When we take that platform in glory and Jesus Christ rewards us for the things we did for eternity Okay, number four the judgment of Israel Ezekiel chapter 20 verses 33 to 44 that judgment takes place at the end of the tribulation and Jesus judges Israel and brings them into his kingdom The fifth judgment is the judgment of the nations That's Matthew 25 verses 31 down through verse number 46 That judgment also is on earth The judgment of Israel is on earth
The judgment of believers works is in heaven the judgment of each man Man's self is on earth as well and the judgment of sin or yes The general sin was that Calvary but the judgment of the nations is in the valley of decision in Matthew chapter 25 Christ separates the sheep from the goats It's speaking of Gentiles Not the nation of Israel It's speaking of Gentiles and there Jesus divides his sheep from the goats The goats are those who are the unbelievers unbelieving Gentiles and the sheep are the believing Gentiles and Jesus says when I was hungry You did not feed me when I was thirsty
You gave me nothing to drink when I was in prison, you did not visit me and When I was naked you did not clothe me and the goats will say when did we see you in prison? When did we see you naked When did we see you thirsty? When did we see you in this condition and Jesus responds by saying when you did it to the least of these my brethren you did it as unto me He is referring specifically to the nation of Israel When the Gentiles do not look at Israel and treat them as if they are treating Jesus They are judged as pagans those are the goats and Then he turns to the sheep and says when I was hungry you fed me when I was thirsty You gave me something to drink when I was in prison You visited me when I was naked you clothed me and they said Lord pray tell when did we do that for you? He said when you did it to the least of these my brethren you did it as unto me enter into my kingdom you see the unique thing listen carefully about being a believer a believing a Believing Gentile in the tribulation is that there is a great concern for the people of God So much so that when you do it, you don't even know you're doing it for anything else but to help that person That's why the sheep will say but when do we see you hungry thirsty naked in prison when? because service in the kingdom of God is a byproduct of your relationship with God And that's the judgment of the nations in Matthew chapter 25 It takes place in the kitchen Valley in Jerusalem the Valley of decisions It's called the Valley of Jehoshaphat and that's where the nations of the world will be judged when the king returns Then there's a judgment of Satan and his demons when at the end of the kingdom where on earth Jude 6 tells us and the angels who kept not their first estate but left their own habitation He hath reserved than everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day This will occur at the end of the millennial kingdom and they will be cast into the lake of fire remember Matthew 25 says in verse number 41 that hell was prepared for Satan and his angels Hell was never prepared for people like us or Anybody at all? It was prepared for Satan and his angels, but humans go there because of their refusal to believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God and Then comes the judgment of the unsaved
That's in Revelation chapter 20 verses 11 to 15 It's called the great white throne judgment Okay No believer is judged at the great white throne judgment In fact, the Bible says in Revelation 20 verse number 11 that everything is gone In fact in Revelation 20 11 everything is as it was before Genesis chapter 1 verse number 1 Because all of heaven is consumed all of earth is consumed It's all done away with it happens at the end of the millennium when Satan and his his cohorts are Satan is released from his imprisonment and Therefore what takes place is a great battle upon the earth and Christ incinerates them immediately Which is a spoken word and destroys everything and all that's left is What it was like before Genesis 1 verse number 1 and John sees a great white throne and all the unsaved dead around that throne and the books were open and They were judged according to their deeds, right? And those whose name was not found written in the book of life Were thrown into the lake of fire That's the great white throne judgment no believer is judged there We as believers are judged okay at The beam of seat of Christ in heaven at the rapture of the church Those Gentiles who become believers during the tribulation Will be judged in the great judgment of the nations Matthew 25 And the sheep will be the believer put on his right the goats will be the unbeliever put on his left They will go into everlasting punishment and the sheep will enter the kingdom of God on earth Okay, so that's a long answer to question number three
We better hurry up, but we won't finish All right question number four How long does scripture say the tribulation will last answer? Be seven years How do you know that? That's Good the Bible says so now where's the say that that's very important Daniel 9 verse number 27 Remember, there are 70 weeks of Daniel's prophecy 69 weeks were concluded with Christ when he entered Jerusalem on the donkey Because Israel rejected their Messiah the 70th week was not enacted that doesn't happen into the tribulation period 70 70 weeks of sevens 70 weeks of Seven years
Okay, and what happens is that the 70th week is seven years It's divided into two phases and in the middle of that phase the Antichrist Desecrates the temple sets himself up as God and demands that all people of the world even Israel who worships him Which inaugurates the great and terrible day of the Lord now the tribulation is seven years long It's all the time of Jacob's trouble Okay, we'll talk about this when we look at the tribulation in detail, but the latter half of tribulation is called the great day Of the Lord, it's called the day of God's wrath It's all wrath but the latter half is worse than the first half because as we will see in a moment it talks about the intensity of Judgment upon the world
It's seven years long Okay Now number five the Antichrist a world ruler who will appear in the end of time Who will receive authority and power from Satan is also called the king of Babylon the son of the morning The son of perdition the beast the angel of the bottomless pit or all of the above answer Not too confident I all of the above All of the above Okay, let me give you the verses king of Babylon Isaiah 14 verse number 4 Okay remember the final Antichrist will rule Babylon Which rules the earth you read about that in Revelation 17 in Revelation chapter 18
He's called the king of Babylon He's called the son of the morning Isaiah 14 verse number 12 the son of perdition 2nd Thessalonians 2 3 the beast of Revelation 11 7 Revelation 13 verses 1 to 9 The angel of the bottomless pit Revelation 9 11 and if you want more which I'll give them to you He's called the lawless one 2nd Thessalonians 2 8 He's called the man of destruction in 2nd Thessalonians 2 3 He's called the abomination in Matthew 24 15 He's called the little horn in Daniel 7 verse number 8 He's called the insolent king in Daniel 8 23
He's called the ruler who is to come Daniel 9 26 He's called the despicable person in Daniel 11 21 He's called the strong-willed king in Daniel 11 36 He's called the worthless shepherd in Zechariah 11 verses 16 and 17 That's why we take tonight so you could get the tape So I know you didn't get all those verses but he's called by many names He's described in many different facets because that's exactly what he is He is the worthless shepherd He is the abomination
He is the king of Babylon He is the son of destruction the son of perdition That's who he is and when we talk about the tribulation and we talk about the ruler of the nations We'll talk about the Antichrist Help you understand how he comes to power how he's able to delude the whole world into believing that he is the Messiah number six as the tribulation builds to its bloody climax the world powers will gather in a final military campaign called a Armageddon a Armageddon now the apocalypse Okay, the apocalypsis is the unveiling That's why the book of Revelation is called the apocalypsis the unveiling of Jesus Christ So we know that the book of Revelation speaks to us about how Jesus Christ himself is unveiled But the battle the mighty battle at the end will be called what is called the Battle of Armageddon It's in what is called the Valley of Megiddo It has another name the the valley the Jezreel Valley Also, the Valley of Ezra on it's called three things
It's called Armageddon in only one place Revelation 16 the verse number 16 So the kings of the East gather together in the valley called Megiddo It's also called the Valley of Ezra on the Jezreel Valley number seven Tribulation is characterized by judgments from God's hand these judgments include all the following except which one B That's right B Six beasts emerging from the seven seas
Okay, that is not the judgments the judgments are characterized by Bowls Trumpets and seals Listen carefully in Revelation 6 you have the breaking of six seals Okay six seals It's the lamb in Revelation 5 who takes the scroll and he is the only one worthy to break the seals He breaks those seals with each breaking of each seal Unfolds for us the events of the tribulation. I wasn't carefully
Okay, you have seven seals Seven seals span the seven-year tribulation period seven seals span the seven-year tribulation period When the seventh seal is broken in Revelation chapter 8, okay So if you have the whole seven-year spectrum like this Okay And a seal being broken so you're one two Three four five six when seven when the seven seal is broken It really has no description except from that seven seals come seven trumpets that are blown Okay, and those seven trumpets are blown in Revelation chapter 9 And you can read about the intensity of their judgment when the seventh trumpet blows Okay, remember you have seven seals span the whole tribulation See a one two, three, four five six seven when the seventh seal blows Our seventh trumpet blows Okay there are seven Catastrophic events that take place on the earth with the seventh trumpet blows Okay, now you're down here seven bowls are poured out Seven vials are poured out in succession bang bang bang bang bang
Okay, so by the time you get to the sixth seal You're at the end of the tribulation Because the seven trumpets happen quicker than the breaking of the six seals and the seven bowls being poured out Happen in such rapid succession upon the earth all in Revelation chapter 16 Which conclude with the arrival of the king in Revelation chapter 19? Now I know you're saying well, man, that's way beyond me That's okay You stay with us over next several months You'll get it all Okay, that's exactly what happens seven bowls seven trumpets Seven seals
Okay, and break the second coming of Christ refers to ABC or D D all of the above it refers to Jesus appearing with his bride the church to in the tribulation That's Matthew 24 verse number 30 The beginning of the Millennial Kingdom when Christ establishes his reign that's Revelation 14 verse number 7 and the time when Jesus once again Sets foot on the earth Revelation 18 1 revelation 19 1 Okay, all of the above Number 9 through verse number 17 true and false Here we go
Satan will be destroyed at the beginning of the millennium true or false false, okay, he is bound at The beginning of the millennium revelation chapter 20 verses 1 & 2
He is bound for how long a Thousand years, okay, and then at the end of those thousand years he is released Okay, and you had the final battle is described as Gog and Magog Which is really a symbol for the rebellion of society against Christ Okay, and then the incineration of the universe and the great white stone judgment Okay, number 10 believers will reign with Christ as leaders in his kingdom true or false true revelation 321 revelation 21 verse number 5 The millennium is an everlasting kingdom true or false False and the Williams a thousand years, right? It's a thousand year reign of Christ upon the earth
Now Listen, we at Christ Community Church believe in a Pre millennial view of the return of Christ We believe in a literal 1,000 year reign of Christ upon the earth
Why do we believe that revelation 20? 6 times says a thousand years Okay, we believe in a literal reign of Christ on the earth and we Believe in a literal giving of or fulfillment of promises to the nation of Israel Very few People believe that today most churches do not believe that most believe that The church has replaced Israel and the promises given to Israel are now fulfilled in the church We will show you what that's not true
That's wrong Okay, and so we believe in a literal 1,000 year reign of Christ It is and The millennium is not an everlasting kingdom Joel 3 verse number 20 Everyone who will speak or everyone in the millennium will speak the same language true or false true Zephaniah 3 verse number 9 now I'll give you a break It's inferred in Zephaniah 3 verse number 9 We don't know for certain but we believe that that's the case Okay Number 13 people will no longer be born during the kingdom true or false false False people will be born during the kingdom age Why listen carefully folks
This is a good question The answer by the way is Jeremiah 30 20 Zechariah 10 8 Revelation 27 and 8 Now remember that when the kingdom is established at the return of Christ, right? There's a sheep goat judgment all the goats Okay Pass off into Hades place of Sheol until the second resurrection and The sheep enter into The kingdom of God with the one-third remnant of Israel Zechariah 13 Which is the fulfillment of Romans 11 all Israel will be saved Israel Will be saved Gentiles who are saved the sheep will enter the kingdom
So everybody who enters the kingdom is saved Okay with Jesus Christ the ruling king on the throat of David Now during that thousand-year reign babies will be born Children will be born Some will be followers of Christ others will not But the rebellion won't be seen until the end of the thousand years Revelation 20 verses 7 and 8 when Satan is released from his imprisonment of a thousand-year bondage and Gathers together all those who revolt against the Messiah Okay, so it is true jet children will be born during the kingdom But the answer is false because it says people will no longer be born during the kingdom Okay, number 14 God's people will win all conflict and all wars true or false True false false true true true false true true right here false or here true
It's false It's false Why there are no wars in the millennium Okay trick question Okay, Isaiah 2 for Micah 4 verses 2 to 4 there will be no conflict during millennia Kingdom because you have a Dictatorship you have a theocracy you have the King of Kings the Lord of Lords ruling on the throne You can't rebel against him, right? He rules with a rod of iron There is no war in the millennium
It's after the millennium Okay, number 15 the light of the Sun and moon will be brighter during the kingdom true or false It's true It's true Isaiah 30 verse number 26 The the light of the Sun and the moon will be brighter during the kingdom Yes during the thousand-year reign of Christ the Sun of the moon will be brighter It's during the New Jerusalem the new heaven and the new earth where there will be no need for a son because Christ himself will light the city of Jerusalem the new city Jerusalem Okay, but during the kingdom age it will be Number 16 anybody got them All right yet
Does anybody have more right yet? I'll give you a free trip to Israel Isaiah 30 verse number 26 number 16 economic abundance will characterize the kingdom true or false Economic abundance will characterize the kingdom true or false true Jeremiah 31 verses 5 and verse number 12 number 17 We will all have increased fellowship with God True or false? true Isaiah 44 verse number 3 Joel 2 verses 28 and 29 29 Okay, there will be increased fellowship during the middle reign of Christ upon the earth Number 18 at the great white throne judgment
God will judge who? See good judge and condemn mankind who have rejected God and his program verses Revelation 20 verses 12 to 14 Matthew 13 verses 41 to 42 Number 19, we're rapidly flying through these things
The New Jerusalem is Where Jesus will reign for all eternity is an allegory for heaven We'll have gates of pearl and streets like gold will only be for the redeemed Jew Gentiles will live elsewhere B and D or A and C or all of the above answer is F A and C good A and C Revelation 21 verses 12 to 21, okay Questions 20 through 27 true or false again the answer true to all of them Okay, true to all of them our life in eternity with Jesus will be characterized by a life of fellowship with God
That is true You'll be characterized by a life of rest Oh, by the way, the first one is 1st Corinthians 13 12 1st John 3 to Revelation 21 verses 3 and 7 Increased or a life of fellowship with God a life of rest Revelation 14 13 Blessed are those who die in the Lord for they will rest from their labors I'll be a life of rest those of you who think you work too hard Relax, you can rest when you get to heaven Okay, number 22 a life full of knowledge, yes 1st Corinthians 13 verse number 12 a life of holiness Yes, Revelation 21 verse number 27 Revelation 2 verse number 17 a Life of joy, of course Revelation 21 for Revelation 2 7 a life of service Yes, believe it or not
You will serve the King forever and ever Revelation 22 verse number 3 a life of abundance Yes, Revelation 21 verse number 6 Revelation 2 verse number 7 and number 27 a life of glory answer Colossians 3 verse number 4 Revelation 21 verses 9 and 5 Okay that gives you an opportunity To ask yourself how much you know about prophecy Now, I know there are a couple of trick questions in there, but you know what it's important for us to understand the end it's important because Nobody else does I mean the world doesn't know the end, right? We know the end It's important for us to get a handle on it
Now What I want to give you is one more thing This is not a test Okay, but this is a chart that will help you now you're here tonight So you get this those who did not come because they were afraid of a little wet weather Then they won't get this but you will because you are here Okay, this is important So I want you to take one pass it and then pass it back again And give you the opportunity to take one of these this will explain to you
Thank you, Jim This will explain to you what it is The difference between the rapture of the church and The revelation of Christ this is important to understand and Briefly, I'll go over it with you So you're able to grasp it and then we will be done for this evening but our plan tonight is just to begin helping you understand all this here if While I'm going through this, you know, it'd be a good thing for you to do is to purchase the tape running through Revelation Okay, all 22 chapters in less than 60 minutes
It's called running through Revelation we did it at the end of our series on Revelation and it takes you from Revelation 1 to Revelation 22 and Tells you about the events gives you a summation of the entire book to help you understand how it all flows together Because it does flow together
All right, and so you can listen to that tape and a good thing for you to do is put it in your your car CD player or cassette player whatever you got if you have an old car as a cassette player if you have a new car It's a CD player, but you put it in there and just listen to on the way to work Okay back and forth back and forth back and forth, New York LA New York LA back and forth back and forth and as you begin to learn about Revelation you begin to see the broad spectrum of the book helps you put your arms around the end times okay, now this little chart that you have on the Revelation of Christ and the Rapture of the church is very important because it helps you understand Some very important things that sometimes people miss and what we've done is we've compared them number one the Rapture of the church Not revealed in the Old Testament only revealed in the New Testament as a mystery
Okay, Old Testament prophets never saw this They never saw it They saw the return of the king But they never saw the church age That's why it's a mystery and that's why Christ would give us parables about the kingdom age The parables in the kingdom in Matthew 13 are very important
We did a series on the parables Okay called searchlights for the soul in a Matthew 13 You have what is called the kingdom parables to tell you about how the Word of God is spread in the kingdom How the Word of God grows in the kingdom how people respond to the Word of God in the kingdom age okay, which we are in that the kingdom age the church age and how it's all going to come to an end and Christ was concerned because you see The Apostles would know nothing of the church age and so it's important to understand that The revelation of Christ is revealed by all the major prophets in the Old Testament every one of them That's important to understand number two
The Rapture of the church may occur at any time no signs To be fulfilled before the church can be removed We speak of the imminent return of Christ We talked about the Rapture of the church will explain to you the doctrine of imminency Very important every Apostle believed in the doctrine of imminency That is there is nothing that is to take place in prophecy Before that Rapture of the church now with the return of the king
That's different There are many detailed prophecies yet to be fulfilled and you can read about him in Revelation 6 to 19 So there are many prophecies yet to be fulfilled before the actual return of Christ to the earth Versus the Rapture of the church to glory Nothing has to happen before that takes place because it's an imminent return It could happen at any moment Number three the church goes to heaven first Thessalonians 4 17 number three with the revelation of Christ the church comes back to earth First Thessalonians 3 verse number 13 Okay
So at the Rapture of the church we go to heaven At the Revelation of Christ we come back To earth you can read about that in Revelation 19 verses 11 and following we are those on in white robes Coming with the king in on his white horse Number four the Rapture of the church is a time of comfort for the believer talked about that earlier first Thessalonians 4 18 But the Revelation of Christ is a time of terror for the unbeliever Revelation 6 verses 15 to 17 the Rapture of the church promises to the church fulfilled The rat the Revelation of Christ promises to Israel Will be fulfilled big difference Remember the tribulation is called the time of Jacob's trouble
It's primarily for Israel Number six the Rapture of the church Christ will meet the church in the air first Thessalonians 4 18 Revelation of Christ Christ comes back to the earth Zechariah 14 verse number 4 the Rapture is private only the believers will see Christ But the Revelation of Christ is public every eye will see in Revelation 1 7 Number 8 believers go to go out of the world with the Rapture of the church but in the Revelation of Christ Unbelievers are taken off of the earth number 9 evil begins to increase When the Rapture of the church takes place Okay Evil will increase second Thessalonians chapter 2 If the Revelation of Christ evil will be completely suppressed based on second Thessalonians 1 7 psalm 37 9 to 10 With the Rapture of the church comes the removal of the Holy Spirit and its effect second Thessalonians 2 7 With the Revelation of Christ comes the removal of Satan and his effect Revelation 20 verses 1 to 3 at the Rapture believers bodies are changed First Corinthians 15 Philippians 3 21 in the twelfth day of an eye we will receive a glorified body in the Revelation of Christ Radical changes will take place in nature Okay, that's found in Romans 8 Isaiah 11 Isaiah 35 and Isaiah 65 number 12 with the Rapture Christ the Bridegroom and the head in the Revelation Christ the Messiah to Israel The Lord is at hand Philippians 4 5 for the Rapture the kingdom is at hand Matthew 24 14 for the Revelation of Christ The Rapture of the church is the judgment seat of Christ We talked about that earlier second Corinthians 5 verse number 10 But with the Revelation of Christ comes a judgment of the sheep and the goats Matthews 24 and 25 With the Rapture of the church believers are taken to the Lord's presence At the Revelation of Christ believers are taken to the kingdom Matthew 24 The Rapture of the church will come suddenly the revelation of Christ it also Will come suddenly versus first Corinthians 15 and Matthew 24 that little chart gives you an idea on the Differences between the Rapture of the church and the Revelation of Christ to this earth It's all about the return of the king in Last two weeks we talked to you about that return the kind of event that was going to be a sure event a surprising event a sudden event a sovereign event a sanctifying event a sobering event a Selective event, but it's a sure event
It's going to happen Next time we're together We'll talk to you about why Jesus is going to return Why? And as you begin to understand how the Old Testament prophets begin to detail for us why? Jesus is going to come back It all begins to open up to you a wide spectrum of End-time prophecy and how Jesus Christ is going to fulfill that All right Let me pray with you father we thank you for tonight a chance to be together a chance Lord just to briefly look at at Prophecy and some of the the events that will take place
We ask that you give us wisdom We ask Lord that you'd open our eyes that we might behold wonderful things that are thy law And we ask Lord that you'd instruct us and teach us in the way that we should go Thank you for the opportunity to teach your word We pray Lord for safety as we go home tonight We thank you Lord Jesus for the rain We pray for safety We thank you Lord for the opportunity to glorify you because you are our King Bring this again together again this Lord's Day in Jesus name Amen
